Comprising a web site and an e-mail newsletter, Channel Tech Center will "exemplify ways to integrate products into multi-tier solutions and highlight the opportunities for solution providers." Based on Frank's experience, expect lots of product reviews.
The IT trades compete in many ways, and one of them is with RSS. How many feeds does each title provide? How are they segmented?
We've been studying this lately and here are some nuggets for you:
* eWeek/Ziff Davis Enterprise has 137 feeds, just nine more than Computerworld at 128. Network World has 71, InfoWorld only 21 and InformationWeek even less than that at 19. What a gap! We'll examine additional IT destinations in subsequent SWMS research.
Video is hot. It's cheaper than ever to produce, and fresh distribution channels are emerging. On the consumer tech front, CNET Networks yesterday announced CNET TV, a video-on-demand (VOD) package of instructional content, news and reviews to be available in June through Cox Communications, TVN Entertainment and TiVo, and on the web later this summer. The videos will run 15 minutes and will feature CNET editors and reviewers on camera. ClickZ filed this article yesterday.
