RSS-as-Battleground for the IT Trades

The IT trades compete in many ways, and one of them is with RSS. How many feeds does each title provide? How are they segmented?

We've been studying this lately and here are some nuggets for you:

* eWeek/Ziff Davis Enterprise has 137 feeds, just nine more than Computerworld at 128. Network World has 71, InfoWorld only 21 and InformationWeek even less than that at 19. What a gap! We'll examine additional IT destinations in subsequent SWMS research.

"Long-term" changes

In spite of the early summer layoffs at CMP, InformationWeek's staff grew, up five or six full-time editors and ditto for technical feature writers. Rob says the changes both in staffing and restructuring position InformationWeek for "long term growth… for online and events, as well as print. Now we can get back to just producing good product."
